[Husker] Alamo Bowl and more

My wife and I were disgusted with the ESPN announcers, and listened to Rose
and Fiala even with the 4-second delay for the video. What I did listen to
of ESPN sounded like they were generally scoffing at such a low-tier bowl,
and when the game ended they were disparaging the game when commenting on
the final play. When I turned on the post-game ESPN, the news person showed
clips of the "breaks" that NU got because of bad calls. I was psyched about
an exciting game and the hard-fought victory, but anyone who had not watched
the game might think it was a joke and that MU got robbed. I haven't always
liked Keith Jackson, but his type is sorely lacking and will be missed--he
actually relates to the plays on the field instead of looking for a spot to
wedge in his little anecdote about some kid's father's pet alligator in
Pensacola.

Though I like the fact that NU got this bowl experience, the way that the
quality of announcers has dropped and all but the biggest bowls getting
sequestered to ESPN--and each bowl being inundated with the idolatry of the
BCS championship bowl and its heroes--is taking a lot of the holiday bowl
experience away from NCAA football for me.

I thought the announcers showed their lack of class by praticly mocking the
officals from the start of the game. I enjoyed watching Keith Jackson call
a game last night. Can you imagine someone like him making fun of the
officials? No way.

The
announcers spent too much time complaining about the officiating. I was
happy that they were from the ACC!
