[Husker] The joy of victory

Some are still having trouble getting over the big football victory Wed. evening. Isn't that supposed to be a problem with losses only? Visions of lollypops are nothing compared to playing THAT game over in ones head in the middle of the night. As game time was running out it finally hit that the husks were on the verge of actually winning. The conviction that a good showing would be optimal had eliminated nearly all consideration of victory as a possibility. Then as the final play progressed there began a flood of the same sinking feeling that was present at the end of the TT game; a startling victory was at hand and yet slipping away. Titus & Zack certainly deserve praise for keeping their heads while others seemingly entered a twilight zone. Whew! It was nice and loud at the local San Francisco sports bar watch party during the last quarter. No wolverines were to be seen anywhere.
Bill and the boys (and those near to them) must be having a wonderful time during the rest of the holiday period. To end the season so well will allow the sweet taste of success to linger for months. It would be difficult not to be happy for them after such an extended period of tumult and dissatisfaction. If contentment is a factor of good health, Husker fans may not need flu shots this season. However, some folks may consider this show of fanaticism to be a sickness itself. What a way to go (Big Red)!
