As I understand it, any offensive player can usually advance a fumble, 
except on fourth down. In that case, only the person who fumbled the 
ball can advance it. But I don't believe you can intentionally get the 
ball to an interior lineman, whether by handoff, lateral, forward pass, 
or intentional fumble. In this case, a lateral was directed toward a 
lineman, who also was the first to touch it. I think that's illegal.
