Refs were clearly out of their league. (pun intended)
Announcers: I don't mind Tiricco and Herbstreit. They are at least willing to talk about both positive and negative points for both teams in contrast to some crews that trot out decades old bias/prejudice about the teams. The ESPN guys that drive me up the wall (Dick Vitale excluded for the current conversation) are the doddering and drooling Lou Holtz and the smirking Mark May.
Research: A quick search reveals it is harder to count national championships than one would think. Check the link

to see what I mean. Counting all mentions, Michigan has 15 and Nebraska 11. (Yale has 26) Records go back to 1869 (4 years after Civil War ended, 2 years after Nebraska statehood). Al variety of groups declared national champions in the early years, and all the computer selections are listed in later years. As recently as 1984, four different teams were recognized.
By the way, ESPN just started a replay at 4:30 EST. I finally got to see the start of the first quarter. We go BC/BSU to conclusion on the east coast.
All in all, a great win for NU.
