Well let's see here...
USC has scored 50 points per game through 12, but they have given up a
little over 21 per game.
The 1995 Huskers scored just over 53 per game and gave up 14.5 ... of the
174 points they allowed, 53 were in the fourth quarter and 92 in the second
half.
USC had three games that went "to the wire": against 6-5 ASU, whom they
trailed 28-24 in the fourth quarter, against Fresno State, whom they also
trailed in the fourth, and they needed a lucky fumble out of bounds to stop the
clock to get the last second win over Notre Dame.
Nebraska trailed in two games: 7-0 after 1 quarter against Washington State
(it was 20-7 NU by halftime) and against Florida they trailed 3-0 and 10-6 in
the first quarter (it was 35-10 at the half).
USC has beaten three teams that are still ranked in the top 25.
The Huskers CRUSHED 4 teams that finished in the Top 10.
Now, if USC really hammers Texas (which I doubt) they might have a claim on
the number 2 spot. But USC has a suspect defense. Nebraska was a complete
team across the board.
Questions? (Not in my mind)
GO BIG RED!!!
