Not only that, but the "admittedly one swirled in controversy" part is a
huge difference. I suspect the off-the-field problems at CU have alot more
to do with Barnett's departure than the scores to end this season. Solich
on the other hand, ran a tight ship and clean program at Nebraska.
I live in Boulder county, and see the continuous stream of new accusations
and allegations. Next Monday we are expecting the next batch of dirt, as
the audit committee delivers their report on the CU athletic department. I
also have a friend who works for the CU Athletic Department, who tells me
this is just the tip of the iceberg.
CU may have a tough time finding a big name coach. The biggest problem they
face is financial, as the athletic department runs continually in the red,
and fan support is overall weak. Very few similarities with Nebraska's
situation, thankfully.
Finally, I have to congratulate the NU team for the great game in Boulder!
I've attended every CU-Nebraska game, home and away, since the early 1980s,
and this was the most satisfying victory, at least since the 52-7 blowout in
Lincoln in 1992!
Go Big Red! Beat Michigan!
