Leinart's likely replacement, John David Booty, is nothing to sneeze at- in fact some say he has more potential than Leinart and Palmer combined. IIRC, he was supposed to (or did) attend LSU, but is now at USC. He has looked very impressive in mop-up duty (which seems like it would be quite a few games with the Trojans).

Subject: [Husker] Returning Talent for 2006 Husker Opponents...

Greetings,

Here is my take on the studs that will or won't be coming back for 2 big time Husker Opponents next year:

USC:
====================
Leinart = gone (no eligibility)
Bush = gone (Heisman winner and NFL here I come)
White = 50/50 gone (If Bush leaves he might stay, but as a Jr he could go pro as well)
Jarrett = staying (Only Soph)

So, in my opinion that has USC losing 2 of the 4 1st Team AA skill position players that they have the season on offense. Their 5th AA on offense, OT Luiti is a Sr and is gone as well.

However, if LenDale White comes back next year for his Sr season he will certainly be a Heisman Candidate.

Texas:
=====================
Young = 70/30 gone

If you watch PTI on ESPN and saw Young last week he didn't seem like a guy that was coming back. Couple that with the fact that according to ESPN Insider his family is putting together the materials necessary to interview potential agents and are seeking help in doing so (not a violation of NCAA rules) and my gut feel is that Vince is off to the NFL to be the next incredibly overrated run first QB in the NFL a la Michael Vick.

This is just my take...I could be wrong (and probably am).

Go Big Red!

jv
