Can someone who knows more about basketball than I do explain
why neither Marcus Walker nor Maric were in at the end of the
game?
As the second half unfolded yesterday, I was wondering why Maric's minutes
seemed down in general, not just at the end of the game. Wilkinson and Maric
each had five rebounds in the first five minutes of the game. Eddins drove
the lane and made a high-percentage shot to win it late, a shot that may or
may not have been there if the 6-foot-11-inch Maric would have been in the
game. You'd think that it may have been a more difficult shot attempt had there
been an additional 6-foot-11-inch obstacle. Walker made one turnover with
about 4 minutes left in the game -- he may have forced it a bit -- then you
didn't see him for the remainder of the game. He DID, however, have a first
half where he showed some of the scoring prowess that he obviously had during
his famed high school career.
I was wondering where Maric was for most of the second half. Probably just
one person who could answer your question (and a very fair one at that), and
I doubt that he frequents "The List."
