Games from before WW2 and probably before 1950 (if not 1960) are from a
completely different era of football.
Can you extract on a year-by-year or decade basis the number and/or
percentage of games where 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80+ points were scored?
(My guess is that 50+ point games are far more common now than 20 years ago.)
Like others, I got the impression Texas could have put up 80, 90, 100 or
even more on CU today.
I thought Texas and USC both left their first string and Heisman candidates
in far too long today, in blatant attempts to rack up stats and influence
Heisman voters. It says a lot about the class shown by those coaches.
On the other hand, the BCS Championship Game is now set up as a battle of
two unstoppable forces. Can it possibly live up to the expectations it
will undoubtably have placed upon it over the next month, during which it
will probably seem like 'Rose Bowl and the 25 Dwarfs'?
