[Husker] Tommy Lee

I have no problem believing there's sufficient footage available that makes it appear that Tommy's lost in the drumline, then his fortunes change. Equally so, I have no problem believing material exists that makes Tommy appear alternatively dumb, smart, responsible, lazy, gentile or brash.
Keep in mind the producers have hundreds of hours of tape, and that sequences themselves are often shown out of order. Further participants are often set up in advance for particular reaction shots, then those shots are be used as the producers deem necessary for the story and mood they're trying to create.
For instance, at one point during the first week (I don't' remember if it's show one or two), we see a shot of Tommy walking across campus, apparently having just left a class. We're under the impression it's still early in the semester. But Tommy is walking with a jacket on, and the trees are half bare. It's easily mid/late October. As Tommy (or anyone else) is shown doing something (anything), you can't assume it's being shown in its natural chronological order. Reaction shots from one question can be edited in to the reaction of a completely different question to create a desired effect. I'll bet anyone on this list a large Val's pizza that the meeting with the Perlman in the first show I'm sure was a example of some heavy editing (e.g. Perlman's apparent stony gaze, Tommy's nervousness after mention this is a "serious" institution.)
Please understand I like the show and think it reflects favorably on the University. I also like how they've chose to show Tommy as a vulnerable guy and that not all Nebraskans are dumb hicks.

Merlin....
You're asking us (me?) to believe, then, one of two things:
- Tommy Lee was not very good at the drum line when he started this thing.
- Tommy Lee was very good at drumming, but did a darned good job acting
like he sucked.
I understand your reference to the Daily Nebraskan and a band leader, but
I'm really having difficulty believing the second over the first. <G>
