[Husker] excited about Maine

We're playing Maine for our first game. They have a good hockey team.
Minnesota beat them in overtime in one helluva game in 2002 to win a
national title. I watched that game, it was worth some darned good
screaming. Unfortunately, I'm finding it very difficult to get excited
about playing a hockey school who just happens to have a football program.

Their first ever football win over a Div IA program was in 2004 against
Miss State, 9-7. Wow. I know we have a history of patsies, but normally
they were at least decent patsies, weren't they? Middle Tennessee State
was typically one of the better teams in Div IAA. Central Florida had
Dante Culpepper.

Here, out of Bangor, we see that our first opponent is becoming
"intense": http://www.bangornews.com/news/templates/?a=118717&z=221

Here, out of Lincon:

We see that I'm supposed to get excited about the game being on PPV for a
paltry $30. SP is so excited about the game that he'd like to remind us
that if we can't get to Lincoln, we'll be able to see the "exciting
changes made at Memorial Stadium, including our new FieldTurf". Even SP
knows a turd when he tries to sell it.

Is Jack Cosgrove at Maine related to Kevin Cosgrove at Nebraska? I'd
understand the scheduling of this game if he was, and wouldn't have a
problem with it at all. After all, Maine needs some bucks. We need a home
game and an easy win (although this falls into the laughable category).

I'd be excited if we were playing someone. I'd be excited if the coaches
comments were more common than the Athletic Director's. Ah, the good old
days when the AD just took your money and mostly shut up about it, built a
new baseball stadium or something similar.

No one's predicting the score yet? 63-7? 34-10? 7-9?

Did you know that the water in Maine is potable?

10 days left, kind of.
