Hi Husker Fans,
I am excited. We have to be a lot better team this year than last. The only problem is our record in the end may not reflect it. I think all of the North teams will be better and surprise some folks.
As far as the Huskers go. All I can ask for is for them to compete. I have never like the losses in the past but the way we loss and played last year made me sick. I think it made most Husker fans sick too. I think that is why the hesitation for excitement is missing.
Think of years pass when most of the topics of preseason were how high will the Huskers rank this year. Will we make it to the NC? You all know what I am talking about. It was endless amounts of speculation and excitement.
This year the speculation is about things most of us have never had to speculate on in the past. We are hardly mentioned in the sports news other than "we are still a year away" and news about former Huskers we would rather not hear about.
How will we compete this year? There are so many questions that have to be answered. That won't happen until we play the games. I predict that once the games start there will be just as much excitement as usual. Until that happens, it is just a nervous time for a lot of us.
The good news is it is less than a two weeks until some of our questions will begin to get answered. I am excited about that. If we compete and lose some games, I can handle that.
On another side note. I am excited that the three Florida schools are not getting all the limelight this preseason. That is not to say by the end of the year that won't change. Anyone think USC can repeat? I predict it won't happen just because History has proven how hard it is to do. That reminds me. We play USC next year. You Husker fans that have been around as long as I have probably remember the last series with USC. That kind of kicked off a run most of us will never forget.
Go Huskers! Bring the excitement back.
