Good catch.
I don't think the original problem had anything to do with promoting from
the inside. The issue with Pelini was he wasn't at the time, and in my
opinion is still not ready to be a head coach. Those that know him say there
are still a few rough edges that need to be ground off first. By the way did
you see the article in the Oklahoma paper that talked about them junking all
of Pelini's schemes. The players didn't like them because they were too
complex.
That being said, Bielema is one of the rising stars. I'm sure you remember
he was one of the first people Nebraska tried to hire as DC. I believe his
loss, as well as some of the other assistants is why K State is struggling.
As the AD, Alvarez had a lot more say in who was going to succeed him than
