[Husker] Huskers Get Cracking With Full Contact Drills

From my talks with numerous Husker fans, I get the sense that no one is
really confident in predicting the Ws and Ls this year. Some will say
that NU SHOULD go 8-3 or 7-4, but in the next breathe they'll say that
it's also possible that they'll have the same or worse record than last
year!

My feeling is that although the Huskers should be improved over last
year in some areas (the jury is still out on the defense, IMHO on
whether
they will be improved or not), so will some of the other teams on our
schedule who many are pointing to as "blow outs" or "sure wins". How
can
you say we're going to blow out or win for sure against: Wake Forest,
Kansas, Baylor and ISU? ISU was a young team last year...they'll
only be
better. If memory serves me, we didn't even play against KU's best QB
last year due to an injury. Baylor played well against us last year
for 2
or was it 3) quarters. I don't buy how "terrible" KSU is going to
be. I see
Texas Tech and OU as very tough to win...odds are extremely against
us. I also
think Missouri, Colorado and yes, even Pittsburgh should be at least
in the
"toss up" category.

So, IMHO, I think there's a very challenging season ahead of us. I
wouldn't be
too surprised at another losing season, maybe even a worse record
than last
year, depending upon how it all plays out with all the new players
(we have
a new QB for crying out loud).

After a few games, we'll know more. And with the way this crazy game
is, who
knows...we might be undefeated entering our first road game.

As they say, that's why they play the games!
