[Husker] Pilkington's scholarship

I understand Ross Pilkington still has his scholarship. I haven't seen
where Ross has talked about transferring. Is it typical for a team to
not pull the scholly once the player leaves, even if they are staying
in school?

Are the coaches holding out some hope that he's going to rejoin the
team? I know we've pretty much reached our limit of 25 scholarships
per class with the incoming recruits, but surely we don't have surplus
scholarships to the point we can continue to pay for Pilkington's when
he has voluntarily left the team? I have to think there's a walkon who
would love to get his school paid for while he's sweating out
two-a-days and getting knocked on his can by Jay Moore.

Anybody have any information?
