I guess I have to explain everything I post now :>)
>>Me, too. Okay, you are right. I'll admit that. Because we get one football player due to Ahman Green I can't say he has NO influence. But some booster may have more effect than Ahman Green in getting players recruited. But by influence I didn't mean he doesn't talk to a player. I meant he isn't part of the Nebraska football team anymore and hasn't been for some years.
My point was that Ahman Green still has influence on the football program,
as do most of the former players who are looked up to by potential recruits
(and relatives who are potential recruits). To say one of the best Huskers of
all time does not have any effect on Nebraska athletics is ludicrous.
>>One thing I would seriously like to know. You say it is ludicrous to say Ahman Green has no influence. I agree I can't say he has NO influence if he influenced even one person. But ludicrous could be a little strong. Can you give some other examples to demonstrate the vastness of the magnitude of his influence on the Husker program to this day? I have to assume there are many examples or the statement would not be as "ludicrous" as meets the eye. I really would like something other than because he is a pro player high school athletes then know he is from Nebraska and they want to come here. That could be said of 85%-90% of all pro players that ever played the NFL game. Plus, we really don't know how often that happens in the grand scheme of things. It is more of an assumption that it happens more than we know it happens.
