I was outside raking leaves the other day while listening to the ballgame on 
the radio.

My body was with nature but my mind was overwhelmingly plagued with thoughts 
of how much I'd rather be reregistering at omaha.com.

It's just not like it used to be back in the day when Billy the NU walkon 
redshirt would come by with his one good arm to help rake the farm; even 
during two-a-days.

Mind you, he was only being used as a tackling dummy at the time, but all 
agreed he was every bit as important to the team as the stars.

It warms the cockles of the heart every time I picture Billy dragging that 
rake underneath his armpit while running full speed in circles until he'd get 
so dizzy he'd collapse.  We'd soon all join him on the ground in laughter and 
Billy would diagram option plays in the dirt until it got so dark we could see 
no more.
