I think most Nebraska fans have been unhappy with the way a growing
number of so-called fans have treated NU players.  As you noted, Frost
is one example of many know-nothing fans booing a player who later that
year led NU to a national title.  The treatment of Jamal Lord was even
worse.  He was a guy who took many shots from the fans and responded
with dignity and class --- and led NU to a 10-3 season and bowl
victory.  I believe the loud ovation that Lord received was many good
Husker fans trying to apologize for some of NU's bad fans.  As one
who grew up proud that NU applauded the opposing basketball teams'
introductions at the Coliseum and continued to be proud of NU fans
applauding teams after the game at Memorial Stadium, I hope NU will
continue to treat its own Big Red players at least that well.
