[Husker] Dailey

Could this be the reason for Dailey being the only qb at the spring game
to face a blitz and by the first team for that matter? Who knows but
this makes me wonder about last season. I've heard other stories of
almost vindictiveness on Callahan's part. I would also add that this is
not the pros where if you're hurting you play. Sometimes you have to
trust the player if he says he's not ready. Just because the medical
staff clears you doesn't mean that you're 100%. In fact I faced this
situation before when I was told I just sprained my hand when in fact I
had broken a bone in my hand. Trust me when I say running hills with a
bad mitt is not fun. In the end, I wish Joe the best and hope he finds a
good team. I too miss the x's and o's guys like Greg Mays who would come
in and dissect the spring game and regular season games. While everyone
is concentrating on the QB position we haven't really heard how the
o-line looked or how the d-line performed and if the D looked better
than last year. If we can't stop teams from scoring like the T. Tech
game last season it will not matter who's at QB.

I think one thing that has been overlooked about JD's demotion to 4th
string
was in one of the myriad of articles printed over the last week. It
talked
about Dailey "refusing" to practice after his shoulder injury even
though he
had been cleared by the medical staff. This was at the same time that
Taylor
had been puking between plays. JD made mention in the article that he
thought
he was dropped to 4th string to be an example to the team.
I can relate to the coach doing that. Someone who's supposed to be
competing
for a job and then doesn't appear to be willing to give the same level
of
effort as his competition would be grounds for me to make a move. I've
done the
same with soldiers going up for a promotion slot. I'm not questioning
JD,
and I don't pretend to know what's going on in his head, but I can see
the
coach's point of view. I know that this is a big assumption on my part
that this
had anything to do with anything.
Back in the day we had several guys on here that would break down every
offensive and defensive player. They were chased away for whatever
reason by
folks who still remain on this list. Today's list seems to be either
more of just
rehashing whatever the media puts out there or a bunch of guys sitting
around the coffee shop complaining about "the new guys."
Here we are following the Spring Game and no one has really broken down
the
plays and the players. Instead everyone wants to attack each other or
bring
back the "golden days vs. the current woes arguement." Its been this
way for
the past 18 months and is really getting old. Thank God for the delete
key.
