I though Taylor showed three qualities that lend some optimism for the fall:
1) Accuracy - if they charted his throws almost all were on target.
2) Looking for alternative receivers - he didn't lock on receivers but
rather did a nice job of going through the progressions, as Novell said.
Numerous times he it second and third or 4th receivers.
3) The feel. Good QBs have a feel of pressure and when to move just
enough to give themselve more time. If you watched him closely, you saw
him step up _into _the pocket or move just a step to one side of the
pocket or the other when pressure came around him. That was very positive.
I like the potential but again as others have said they were not going
against a Top 10 defense. Still, I like the fundamentals that I saw in him.
One thing you will notice next fall is that he doesn't have a gun for an
arm but it's not weak either. He just gets the ball there. How many
times last year did we have receivers open but failed to get the ball to
them or over threw them. I don't see that happening with this guy.
The second team offensive line has a ways to go but they are really
young also. Murtha struggled horribly all day with Moore and Carriker.
They just flat out beat him numerous times. I also thought Muhammad gave
Thomas(1st team OT) fits a lot.
I though Tierre Green did a really nice job considering how new he was
to the position. I really liked Barry Cryer. I thought he had a strong
game as did Le Kevin Smith.
