Again I will start by saying that I have made no endorsement of Harrison Beck as a potential signal caller nor have I made him my favorite Husker player, as some have insinuated. Rather I simply pointed out that you have to like the enthusiasm of a high school kid who spends his spring break in the 28 degree weather of Lincoln, NE watching practice on his own so he can gleen whatever he can about the offense before he gets on campus in a couple of months. Whether he ever gets it done on the field remains to be seen.

But since Dailey's HS stats were brought up, lets take a look. First, I can't find anywhere that his completion percentage was 72% as a junior, but we will just accept that as truth.

Joe Dailey - St Peter's Prep, Jersey City, NJ

JR:	1,100 yds	17 TDs	72% completion
SR:	1,378 yds	19 TDs	54% completion

Harrison Beck - Countryside High, Clearwater, FL

JR:	2,300 yds	21 TDs	70% completion
SR:	1,695 yds	11 TDs	65% completion

Fairly similar numbers actually if you average them out.

What does this mean? Not a gosh darn thing other than I hope that somebody on campus this fall be it Dailey, Taylor, Beck, Davis or the peanut guy can do a better job at QB than what we saw last year. I don't care WHO IT IS...as long as it is someone.

In fact, if you have ever been to Fenway, they have a peanut guy who can toss a bag of peanuts a mile with deadly accuracy - something I have yet to see one of our QBs get done with a football. Maybe that guy has some eligibility left and wants to take a crack at the QB job!!!

But...then again if we only ran the option we wouldn't have to worry about any of this stuff! <eg>

Have a great day!
