     I consider myself a very passionate baseball fan who has been watching the game for a lot of years.  I still don't understand a lot of the balk calls.  Even after they replay the balk I don't see it.  Basically a balk is a motion by the pitcher which shows intent and the pitcher doesn't follow through with that intent.  One also has to keep in mind there can be no balk call without runners on base.  Therefore with no runners on a pitcher can stop in the middle of his wind up and it is a no call.
