If ESPN had to start their broadcast at 1:00 AND Texas had to be done at
around 4:30, the obvious solution would seem to be a one-hour tape delay,
thereby accommodating both. Very few viewers would know the difference. I
must say it seems a strange outcome (to me, anyway). But then, the balk that
kept Gordon alive and allowed him ultimately to score the tieing run on
Friday night was a bit strange, too. Maybe someone who understands the balk
rule better than I do (it wouldn't take much) saw something.
