This really isn't that abnormal in baseball. Even in the major leagues you
will see "official" games go less than 9 innings, although it's almost
always because of weather. As long as it goes 5 innings, it's an official
game. I believe some of the smaller conferences only play 7 innings on
Sundays or "get-away days", or at least they used to.
Nebraska had their chances to win this one after giving up a 3-run lead, but
they could not capitalize. Those are the breaks.
