Good Evening All:

Well this isn't directly Husker related but it could be in the future if the Journal Broadcast Group decides to go after Husker sports.

Journal Broadcast Group announced today that they will "flip" two of their Omaha radio stations moving the "Adult Standards" format currently on 590 AM to 1490 AM and taking the all sports format currently on 1490 AM to 590 AM, which will be known as "Big Sports 590".

The weekday lineup on the new SPORTS 590 AM includes a morning simulcast of Omaha's Z92 (KEZO) morning show, "Todd 'n Tyler" from 5:30 a.m. - 10 a.m., a local sports talk show hosted by Travis Justice from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., the Jim Rome Show from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. and a new local afternoon show from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. hosted by Omaha newcomer Matt Perrault. Other programming hours on the station will be filled out with Fox Sports Radio. In addition the following team broadcasts will be heard on "Big Sports 590": Kansas City Royals baseball, Kansas City Chiefs football and Creighton University basketball.

It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out once the move is made and 590 AM and 1620 AM (KOZN, 1620 The Zone) get going after one another. I have to think that 590 may do OK during the day since they will have some local programming but they won't do well at night as ESPN Radio is far superior to Fox Sports Radio.
