     It is certainly your right to disagree but I am not sure what "blanket" statement you are talking about.  I said it is not totally the coach's responsibility to get the team up.  Players have to be willing to get pumped up as well.  It includes both elements, the players and the coach and I believe that to be true.  I guess I am not sure what "public humiliation" to which you are referring so I can't comment on that.
