But Bob I thought the players were buying into the
system and wanted to play in it? As I said earlier
wait until the end of the season and see what the
seniors have to say. So far 2 (Chad Sievers and Ira
Cooper) have said that players on d didnt really buy
into the new system (maybe because they had played in
it with Bohl and it didnt work) and also didn't gel
with the coaches. Cooper even said it was that way on
both sides of the ball. A third player (Bernard
Thomas) said that there were problems at NU but he
didn't want to get into it right now. That says one of
two things to me, 1. Either he wanted to wait and see
what others were going to say before making his
comments (unusual for BT) or 2. he wanted to cool down
emotionally before makeing his comments (also unusual
for BT). I think he will make some comments this next
week as will some of the other seniors. Could yet be
an interesting week of NU football.
