Be careful when you say "any", because there may be more than you
can take. Nebraska fans are good fans, but they aren't that much
different than most other fans, especially on the margins of the
75K who attend. There are folks for whom several hundred dollars
(just for a pair of season tickets) is a large chunk of their budget.
There are others who drag a spouse to the game (which is much harder
when you go to watch a losing team). When NU last "struggled", in
the early 1990s, when many fans and even the UNL Daily Nebraskan
suggested it was time for NU to get a new coach and for Osborne to
go, the sellout streak nearly ended and Lincoln companies (some of
which aren't Lincoln companies any more) had to step in to buy tickets
the day before the game. If NU has another year like this one next
year, it won't be difficult to get season tickets for 2006. If NU
doesn't get back to 9 wins in 2006, I think the waiting list for 2007
season tickets won't be needed.
