Count me in as another person in the "disagreed with Pederson but supported
the Huskers nonetheless" camp. I went to *every* Nebraska home game since
BC was hired, including the spring game. I even stayed to the bitter end of
yesterday's game, while other "fans" (including the ones sitting next to me)
bailed out in the 3rd quarter! I was even *almost* rewarded with a
miraculous comeback.

To say that I wanted to see this was ridiculous. I absolutely despise what
has happened to our program in the last 12 months, but I would have loved to
have been wrong about SP and BC.

I'd give Colorado an obvious edge in special teams talent, but let's face
it...Colorado is not a great team. On the same note, you cannot tell me
that we also have less talent than Southern Miss, Iowa State, or even this
year's version of Kansas State. The problem is that our offensive talent
was intended to be utilized in a completely different offense, and Callahan
simply did not utilize them to the best of their abilities.

This leads me to my next point..if Callahan is losing games against teams
that, at best, have the same amount of talent as Nebraska, what is it going
to matter if we keep getting top 5 recruiting classes? Sure, we'll win the
games against Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas State, and even Colorado...but what
about the games against Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech, or USC that are coming
up in future seasons? It seems to me like we'll once again be going 10-3 or
9-4 in a lot of years...which seems to be well below Pederson's lofty
standards. Yet, I have a sneaking suspicious that he'll defend these
records to the death...at least until he is given the axe as AD about 3-4
years down the road (if he even lasts that long).
