Yeah, so many of the streaks are over. Is it really so unbelievable in
this era of big dollars? I don't know of a single sport that hasn't been
tainted by the lure of big dollars.

So, the winning season and consecutive Bowl streaks have ended. Now it's
time to start those streaks again.

The face of college football has changed forever. The BCS is just the
most visible sign of this change.

How many on this list bitched about all those 9-3 seasons under Coach
Osborne? How many complained about the 7 consecutive bowl losses? So the
Huskers went 5-6 this season. Is it the end of the world? Is our (the
fans) pride hurt?

I saw a 10-3 team give up several times last year. I read all those posts
condemning Jamal Lord.

I saw a lot of fight in this years team. With four minutes to play, they
were still in it. This team held Oklahoma scoreless for 30 minutes. There
is a foundation to build on for next year.

Do you recall Coach Solich's first year? All the belly aching about the
8-4 season? Even Tom Osborne stated that probably wouldn't have done any
better.

I read all those posts from two years ago that demanded Coach Solich be
fired. I also read all those posts after Coach Callahan was hired
praising this move. Now all I am reading is whine, whine, whine.

I never understood Steve Pederson's decision in firing Coach Solich. But
what's done is done. The past is behind us. This season closed the door
on the Devany/Osborne/Solich era. It is done.

Now it is time to move on.

I for one will not give on this program. And don't damn the players for
your hurting pride. How do you think the players feel?

The drive to get within a touch down was awesome. It was too bad the
defense took about a half a quarter to get into the game.

Nebraska dug themselves a huge hole early, and damn near climbed out of
it. I am proud of this team. I am proud of their tenacity!

Next year is a new season.

Let's cheer the Women's Volleyball team onto victory!

Go Big Red! Still proud to be a Husker!
