Callahan may not be the right fit, who knows. I think Cosgrove is VERY lucky
he is in Bill's pocket as well or he'd be gone. But, all the talk of coaching
faults reminds me of something that pains me to even bring up, since I am a
die hard Steeler fan as well- for those who think this is a coaching issue,
think about this- Barry Switzer has a Super Bowl ring.
One of my friends (who is a USC fan) noted at the game today that Joe Dailey
is about as inaccurate a quarterback as he has ever seen, and this fellow has
coached high school for 20+ years. He was telling me there are high school
kids around here that were more accurate passers this season, but that may have
been exaggeration just to get me riled up. Whatever the case, I am standing by
my statement that Joe will make a great 3rd down posession-type receiver next
season. And I'm sure he's a great kid, but he simply will not ever grasp this
offense, period, and I bet the coaches have known this all year. When you need
to go to the store and all you have is a 20 year old bicycle instead of your
car, you take the bicycle.

PS- Earlier this year I mentioned that I was very happy that many of the
recruits now are picking Nebraska over teams like FSU, Miami, USC, etc and not
teams like Iowa St, Wyoming, and Utah St. like in the past. I used to be happy to
get those kids. I think we will see in a year or two that this does indeed
make all the difference in the world.
And to anyone considering giving up their tickets next year, please do so,
there are many people who would love to take them (like me) so keep me in mind,
even though I live about 20 hours drive away.
