Speaking for myself, I don't know how much longer I can watch a Cosgrove defense that allows receivers a 10 yard break before the ball is snapped and more often than not leaves opposing receivers all by themselves (whether through bad matchups or simply through blown assignments) as they catch the ball WAY down field. That defensive backfield was so good last year and, although the loss of DeMorrio and a couple of others to provide pressure on the QB was a significant factor, they just looked completely lost for many of the games we saw this year. BC (and SP for that matter) had better hope the coming recruiting class can step in and play well immediately because this team desperately needs something. Maybe it's talent, maybe it's heart, maybe it's another year of separation from the prior staff. Another losing season won't be tolerated by many of the Nebraska faithful, especially one with several instances of mediocre play and/or coaching.

we may be better next year if we can get a QB who can make the reads on a
more consistent basis. JD just can't seem to do it this year. He may start
next year's opener and the next few, but if we start to falter at any time,
you can bet that he will be yanked. Just stating the obvious IMO.
5-6 (4-6 if you don't count the W. Ill. game) is worse than most projections
on this last over the past 6 months or so. Callahan has not showed me
anything really either. I question a lot of his decisions and playcalls
quite frequently.
