NU won at least a share of the Big 12 Conference title by beating
OU.  The win over Texas insured an outright conference title.  I
think the previous reference to the #1 seed was to one of the top
four seeds in the NCAA tournament (#1 in the regional).  If NU had
lost to Texas and Texas A&M, that might have been in doubt.  I
suspect that even if A&M were to win, that NU already locked up a
top seed with the very impressive domination of Texas.
