Neal,
I don't know if you were being harsh, but I'd definitely say unfair and unnecesarily rude.
David Horne hasn't met your approval as a football player. Fine. He may be seeking another opportunity to fulfill his potential. Given his position on the depth chart and the turmoil within the program, how can you fault that?
Look at Correll Buckhalter. IIRC, he didn't start because Dan Alexander was in front of him. Now, C-Buck should be starting with the 9-1 Eagles, and Dan's out of football, right? You could argue that the coaches made the wrong decision back at Nebraska, or you might just say that the Eagles' system is a better fit for Correll's skills than Nebraska's was. The points are the coaches might not always have talent evaluation on lock, and that a change of scenery can do some people good.
Fast forward to today, and David's 4th on the depth chart, playing in an offense that he didn't sign up for and for coaches who didn't recruit him.
We jump up and down when we get two or three 'studs' at the same position in the same recruiting class (i.e. Crouch and Newcombe). While that depth is great for the school, those situations can end poorly for at least one of the athletes. There's always going to be disappointment and fallout.
So maybe I'm being too harsh, but I think your attitude sucks. Jeez, these are college kids.

I hope I wasn't too harsh. I always thought Horne was overrated in high school and at NU. I understand his work ethic was lacking. Remember in 2002 he dropped a td pass that would have kept us in the game. Its been all down hill since then.
Anyone out there think Horne is capable of having a great senior year?
