I don't believe either game was an example was of a team giving up.
The last 35 points scored by Tech were the direct result of five
consecutive turnovers, giving the ball up inside the 14 yard line on
four of the five. Four of the turnovers were on consecutive snaps.
The defense didn't get so much as a three-and-out from the offense
during the sequence to catch their bearings. The onslaught was similar
to what Nebraska suffered at the hands of Chris Brown and Daniel Graham
at the outset of the 2001 CU game. After giving up the turnovers
against Tech, Beau Davis and Nebraska did finish with a couple of first
downs on the next two possessions against Tech before throwing another
interception into the end zone.
