Now if you want to get technical this is what Callahan inherited.
"The Huskers haven't won or played for a Big 12 title since 1999. They
stumbled into the 2001 national championship Rose Bowl game against
Miami after a 62-36 loss to Colorado. They were 16-12 in Solich's last
28 games, including 1-7 against teams in the Top 25.
Last year's 9-3 record was cushioned with wins at home over weaklings
such as Utah State and Troy State. Solich's fate was sealed by a 38-9
home loss to unranked Kansas State."
