This family, I know personally.
I know Mark's father. He played at NU with Turner Gill, etc.
This absolutely exemplifies what many have said. These are the kids that
made NU different. Mark is one of those kids whom a coach is able to squeeze
every single ounce of physical and mental ability out of in certain
situations, and the kid will run through the wall for you. Give him the
opportunity to rise above the circumstances and be a winner and a champion.
Many young men have done it. The list of walk ons, eight man players going
onto great careers at NU. The examples are endless. Sadly, the future in
that regard looks hopeless. These young men leaving the program so far feel
hopeless. If just didn't have to happen.
"Would the boy I was yesterday, be proud of the man I am today?"
