Good question to ask! I have known Mark and his family for several years.
When Mark was a junior at Norfolk Catholic HS, he tackled (legally, clean
hit) my son James, resulting in a pretty severe concussion. The aftermath
of the concussion led to our doctor discovering James had a potentially
dangerous brain tumor. Surgery resulted and things are fine now. Now we
are very thankful for that tackle!
The Brungardts are quality people. His dad Tim was a running back for the
Huskers back in late 70's or early 80's. I do know that Mark was extremly
excited about being a Husker and was expecting alot of playing time after
having a very good spring! I saw his dad several t imes during the
season -- he said the same things Mark mentioned in the article. I hope
everything works out well for him.
