I'm not sure what you mean by "virtually no visable
improvement"; Danny Nee's teams after the walkout in
1996 were undisciplined and at times, downright
unwatchable. Last year's team showed signs of being
competitive against the elite teams in the conference,
drilling Kansas at home and taking Oklahoma State and
Texas to the wire on the road.
Watching this year's team is definitely a
disappointment. Jake Muhlheisen is definitely off his
game, possibly due to injury. But you have to be
encouraged by the play of the freshmen so far this
season.
While the 4-4 start isn't impressive, you have to look
at the competition. Creighton is a better team than
it was in the past, and UAB went to the Sweet 16 last
year. And against Marquette, the Omaha World-Herald
reported today that 13 people on the trip came down
with food poisoning.

I don't think it's a good idea to make a coaching
change based on what Collier did 3-4 years ago.
Instead, I'd prefer to look at where we seem to be
going. Some nice players seem to be coming into the
program; I think you've got to give them a chance.
That's the exact opposite of where the program was at
the end of the Danny Nee era, when the roster was
filled with JuCo players better suited for a
playground .
