You could very possibly be right but I have not heard of that
before. Typically you put your best team on the floor at the start and
filter in a few players to give them time and experience as the game
goes. I am not familiar with doing it the way you say Collier is doing
it. I have personally never seen Coach "K", for example, start his
second string for several games in a row just to give them experience
even in the pre-season. I have always seen coaches take the position
it is vitally important for their top 6-7 players to get to know each
other and play together. That is normally how they use the pre-season
to prepare for the conference season. Unless you personally know
Collier and he told you he is doing it the way you say I don't think
Collier is any different than any other coach in that respect. I
believe he is putting his best foot forward to get ready for the
conference season.
The fact remains Collier is into his fifth year and there has been
virtually no visable improvement in the program. After four years he
should have a solid and experienced top 6-7 players. He shouldn't have
to get players experience to get ready for conference play. Sure, you
will always have incoming Freshman and players that sat the year before
but your core group should be there.
