[Husker] Unrest?

Especially towards the end of the season, it appeared
that there were more than "just a handful" of unhappy
players. Now, maybe some of them are out of
eligibility and some of the others are going to
transfer.

As for the reaction of the fanbase, I think most of
the outcry ISN'T because some players are unhappy. I
think most people realized as this season progressed
that this transition was difficult. Most of the
concerns I've seen revolve around how the coaching
staff have handled the unhappy players, >NOT< that
there are unhappy players. Note the difference.

In the case of Andy Birkel, Callahan apparantly
refused to provide an evaluation, an action plan for
the offseason, or assistance with transferring to
another program. The first two items should not even
be an issue; any player should have those items. The
latter is actually benefiting Callahan, as it frees up
another scholarship for him to use and removes a
potential "cancer" from the program (as Bradley would
put it). Plus, the headlines take on a much less
negative tone.
