[Husker] Birkel to Transfer

Sorry, but Jeff hardly "opened up" on Birkel. Rather, he made two valid
points. First, when Curt Dukes left (and later voiced his own set of
complaints about the program under Solich), most on this list were silent
about it. Second, Birkel is a guy who quit because he wasn't getting enough
playing time. Was that justified? I don't know, and neither does anyone else
on the list, but it happens all the time. It happened under Solich, it
happened under Osborne, it probably happened under Langden Frothingham.
Moreover, we've only heard from Birkel on this. Unless we hear from the
coaches (and we almost certainly never will), we won't get both sides of the
story. Am I happy about this? No. Is it evidence of a problem? Maybe. But
just maybe.
