A kid that realizes he has no professional football playing potential decides to focus on academics and his future after football and that is somehow a bad thing? 

Another kid realizes that being the best player in Lincoln his senior year in HS doesn't necessarily mean he is going to see significant time on the field decides to go to transfer for a school where he might get more playing time and that too is a bad thing? 

I guess I fail to see how this is evidence of "carnage"...unless your goal is to put a negative spin on everything humanly possible. 

Congratulations to Ross Pilkington for making a hard decision about his life and his future and to Andy Birkel for doing the same.
