Well, I don't think Cosgrove gave the half-time talk because the
defense wasn't too bad until the last minute when the game was lost.
However, I got the feeling that NU didn't have anyone in the lineup
at the end of the game who could score. Turek had missed shot after
shot from 2 feet. I don't see how he can have only 7 shots in the
box score. Dourisseau was pretty much a non-factor, shooting 4-12
FG and 0-4 from 3 point range. Muhleisen took only 4 shots, which
was 4 more than Simms. Neal was the Husker's top scorer with 10
points, but was 4-12 from the field.
I was wishing that NU had McCray and Maric in the lineup for a little
more offense at the end (and thinking Collier should have them in),
but looking at the box scores, Maric was 3-9 and McCray 2-11.
To me, it looked like NU had better players, had the home court
advantage, and still couldn't win. Some games just don't go your
way, but as those games pile up, you wonder if some changes aren't
going to be needed. I'd like to see Collier get another year or two
after this season, but there the team needs to show more than it did
against UAB or Minnesota.
