We have done extended x-10 under similar conditions and it all depends on the quality of the wiring and where the Utility company transformer are involved.<div><br></div><div>In a new house with the House and barn on the same Utility company transformer but independent meters we had no issues.</div>

If not on a common service and you're requiring switching control only, PCS Lighting Controls has released an interesting product line called SimpleWorx. From the outputs on the HAI expansion board you could connect any of their CCI transmitters (FMT-CC for one) to send signals to their 10 or 20 amp receivers. Should be approx $80 a side and several orders of magnitude more reliable than X10<br>
