System has been running fine, with only an occasional NO CONTROLLER DATA
message when reloading program changes via PC Access 2.4.<b><i><font

color=navy><span style='color:navy'> Now using 2.17, with no change.</span></font>
There are three consoles, and one expansion cabinet. Each console has a
unique address. Consoles show a firmware? of 11A03-1, ver. 1.1. The
consoles are from the original HMS 1050 OnQ system, and have worked fine for
some 3 years after upgrade to OmniPro II</span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;

<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Arial'>I have been chasing the problem, assuming it is a physical
layer issue. The RS485 signal is 4 volts in amplitude. All consoles
are home run, as is the expansion enclosure. Lately the system would
operate with only two of the consoles, now it seems to only want one.
Does not matter which console, or which console location. All have
been swapped around. Wiring is cat 5 about 50 ft to each console
location. The expansion cabinet is ground connected to the controller via
50 ft 14 gauge.<b><i><font color=navy><span style='color:navy;font-weight:bold;
font-style:italic'>[Sam] </span></font></i></b><font color=navy><span
style='color:navy'> Controller is connected to power entrance ground via
50 of 10 gauge.</span></font></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Arial'> </span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Arial'>At one point during testing, it appeared as if the system
would work better, without the error message, if one side of the A/B was not
connected. This prompted me to check for any grounds on the A/B
conductors. I also checked for pair balance. No issues found. </span></font></p>

font-family:Arial'> </span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Arial'>I have noted three different messages, NO CONTOLLER DATA, NO
CONTROLLER DATA00, and NO CONTROLLER DATA01. </span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Arial'>As I travel a great deal, the Omni has been a stable
security system for me, but I am now concerned. I have had one occasion
when I returned home, system was in AWAY mode, and went into a NO CONTOLLER
DATA mode, which of course makes it impossible to disarm the system from the keypad.
I had to run to system and power down as it was now in alarm state. I suspect I
could have called it via phone, or used a house phone now that I have
considered my options. </span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Arial'> </span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Arial'>I was reviewing the archives and it appears there was a spat
of NO CONTROLLER DATA issues, that looked as if there was no definitive
solution, with some speculation that it may have been a processor resource
issue. If that is the case than it would make sense since I have
exhausted everything I can think of at the physical layer.<b><i><font
color=navy><span style='color:navy;font-weight:bold;font-style:italic'>[Sam] </span></font></i></b><font
color=navy><span style='color:navy'> I have about 200 lines of code in my
program.</span></font></span></font></p>
