your outside temp sensor, you could add another flag (say summer flag) to go on
and off when summer comes and goes. Then, outside temp sensor would only
become NOT READY presumably when the summer flag is OFF. This is the way I
run my house to do many different things (i.e. turn up the heat) when the
outside temp goes below a certain level.

Just set your outside temp sensor low limit to 20
degrees. Then program lines that say, "When outside temp NOT READY,
Whatever FLAG ON." Then, you can also turn the flag OFF when outside
temp READY with another line. This implies you do not have an upper
limit to the outside temp sensor. If you do, then you will need to add
another flag to do whatever you want when the temp goes below 20 but NOT when
the temp goes above a high limit.
