<DIV>I'm a homeowner with an Aegis 2000 that was installed in
mid-2001. It has been working well, and I've done about 300 lines of
programming with it, including some integration via serial port with a
LiteTouch system (5000LC controller). Up to now, the Aegis had its own
dedicated phone line, was set to answer on the first ring (Rings before answer =
1), and it answered reliably.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I want to shift to having it share a voice phone line, and probably answer
on the default 8th ring. So I tried changing "Rings before answer" to 8,
and to my surprise the Aegis would not ever answer. Further testing showed
that if "Rings before answer" was set to anything over 1, the Aegis would never
answer. It would not answer the "Call, let it ring once, hang up, and call
back" approach either. Setting it to 1 works fine. Note that I
haven't changed the phone line, just changed "Rings before answer". Any
ideas or suggestions?</DIV>

Yes, and Dial mode is Tone. HMS software version is 1.9a.</DIV>
