<div>For some strange reason (maybe a storm) I found my Aegis (2000) console showing "set time" after apparently it reset itself completely.. I had to upload ALL data from PCAccess and it seemed to work, EXCEPT for my connection to Crestron through RS232 or RS485 CAT5 cable. I have 2 serial boards (10A17): 1 for laptop (normally connected RS232) and 1 for Crestron working for ages. </div> <div> </div> <div>If I connect my laptop directly into the RS232 Aegis ports, both work perfectly (tx/rx and status leds all flash. If I connect laptop at other end of CAT5, <EM>sometimes</EM> PCAccess works (if Crestron is totally disabled) from the RS485 connection but never from the RS232 connection. The RS232 connection to Crestron allows me to transmit (Crestron TX light and Aegis RX LEDS flash) but not receive. I can actually Arm (Day or Night) my house. I switch the cables to laptop/Crestron or either board -- and nothing works.</div> <div> !
</div>
<div>I suspect a CAT5 discontinuity (mice in my attic after the storm ;-) ).</div> <div> </div> <div>Any suggestions?</div> <div> </div> <div>Thanks</div> <div>Ronald A. Bernstein, M.D.</div>
