[Hai-users] Send Flag Count to Serial Port? (OmniPro II)

Is there any way to create a message / text that can be sent out the serial
port with a flag count value in it?


context:
I have a utility running on a PC (written in Python by me) that receives
serial port strings and then depending on the string received, emails a
text message to me or my wife with a status from the house.  Right now
there these messages are fixed and have no variable. But I would like to be
able to send a counter flag value out the serial port either as part of an
existing message or even as a unique value only.
